| Jack stands against a column of a small fountain. He ponders what Rytak had said. Lelanie's warnings and her insistence that they remained in the village made him begin to question Lelanie. What if Lelanie was just using them? Keeping them here to find some way of using their powers for her own design. Jack shook his head. He had known Lelanie for years. But Lelanie knew about the prophecy, about the powers, about Arianna, and she could have used that to her advantage. She could have twisted the threads of fate and somehow try to change their destinies. Jack's mind was racing, but he still heard the faint sound of foot falls. Arianna suddenly appeared. |
