There wont be information in advance about the rebuild, not even to admins or staff. That is to avoid anyone to take advantage, for good or for bad, of that information.
My suggestion for you is this: Don't hear rumors because nobody have certain information... and expect the best, because developers have been working in an intensive way to make awesome changes at the game. And be cool about changes... equality and fair conditions are musts. So you don't have to worry, players assets are going to remain with them.
