| borobudur. i've asked the same question to some archeolog there and they dont have a precise answer about the age, coz based on alchemy test on the stones, there are 100 years gap between each layers of the temple. some say the age around 1200 years and some say 800 years  prambanan the age around 1162 years.. and there is a legend about this hindu temple, legend say that all 999 temples was built overnight by a prince named bandung bondowoso as one of tha marriage terms from princess roro jongrang. roro jongrang will married bandung bondowoso IF he can built 1000 temples/shrines overnight, but she cheated by burning hey and bashing lesung (a kind of tool for grinding rice) so all the chicken at the village start to berkokok (damn i dont know whats that in english lol) coz the chicken think its already morning. when the chicken started to coockoo, all the djinn (magical creatures) who help bandung bondowoso stop working when the shrines reach 999. in rage.. bandung bondowoso cursed roro jongrang into a statue to complete the shrines  |
