You can have more than one of the same orb in your inventory but you cannot gain more than 1 orb from fighting the various orb beasts if you currently have one in your inventory.

So you can have more than 1 ice orb but not from fighting the ice monster. You can find an ice orb from secret passage or purchase one from the Clan Seige Pit.
