| Assuming all the accepted laws of nature are true, then we know the light goes off in the fridge because when you close the door, it presses in a switch, which in turn interupts the electrical current for the light, causing it to turn off. When the door is opened and pressure is removed from the switch then the flow is allowed to continue and the light turns on. Your other two points about knowing death (metaphysical discussion), how do we know what we know (epistemological discussion), and if what we know is actually reality (metaphysical and epistemological discussion) are indeed deep questions of their own that the last 3000 years of discussion has been unable to find an adequate answer too... although i do like how you mentioned both a priori and a a posteriori knowledge in your question... which in a way answers your epistemological question for yourself right there. |
