DW-Beta had IDs up to about 14000, with about the same distribution of active players across ID numbers we have now. When it was brought back online in 2007 or so, advertising for DW began. This brought in players at least 50 times as fast. Now, this isn't exponential, but with almost 300k accounts on World 1 plus many others on other OGN games, you can't call it a "small gaming business" anymore. Felt is the CEO of OGN. He still owns the game. If I made a LLC with just my name on it, and transferred my savings to it, I would still own every cent of it. Now, I don't think Felt's power over OGN is unlimited, but he's definitely the first person calling the shots. As for gold-farming, etc., that is not a transfer/relationship between a player and the game company. One person, technically, could do it all on their own if they had the time. |
