I could buy as much subscription days as I wanted, if I chose to. The fact that I don't pay doesn't make my logic any less valid. If he were to raise subby and ultra prices 400%, I bet you wouldn't still be saying "well he can do anything because it's his game". You have to look at this from more points of view than just your own. Once you have 2 tiers of subscription, the lower one quickly loses value. You have to keep to 1 tier of subscription, or else you segregate your playerbase. If you want your game to survive, you need subscription to be appealing, but you also need it to not eliminate all competition, or your game quality will suffer. The whole idea of ultra subscription was to keep a way for people to have a paid advantage, while regular players could unlock all the game's features by saving up gold for a month or two. It makes sense to have some features unlocked by progressing in the game, but for a paid subscription to give other kinds of benefits. |
