As a camper, the most I get per gym train is .03 ish.

So, best case scenario, I get .03 each time, and get 15 trains per sapphire.

So, .03 x 15 = .45

Times .45 by 50, for the 50 sapphires, you get:

.45 x 50 = 22.5

So 22.5 AP into your skills for every 50 sapphires, but this is best case scenario. So that seems like a gamble that could pay off.
