Good Manners Tokken
---------------//---------------

KingRobskill is a great father, but the relationship between him and his son were never friendly. Not that the king was bad man, no. The king was a good man (as far as vampires can be good, mind you) but Tokken was just not what the king wished for a son. First of all, Tokken had refused to become a vampire like his father and would totally avoid being alone with his father for he feared that far from the protective eyes of his mother the king would no consider his option. Also because, while the king was more inclined to silence and darkness, Tokken loved light and a good laugh and a lot of parties. The differences between father and son were such that one would think king Robskill and Queen Wykuro had actually adopted Tokken. That, however, was a joke you would only hear outside the castle for the king would probably kill anyone who would say such heresy.

Different as they were, Tokken grew up treasuring many of his father's values because the king was indeed an honorable knight and passed it to Tokken. The king would insist that Tokken had no choice when it concerned his behaviors as knight. "You are the son of a king and you have to behave as such" the king would say. "Good manners Tokken" the king would insist every time his son would behave a bit out of the normal royal code of conduct. "Treat the ladies properly, be gentle to them and most of all never talk bad about them for without them life is worthless" with this words the king would look at his queen and kiss her. The king was also very much concerned with the friend and the company Tokken would keep for according to him: "tell me who you walk with and I will tell you who you are."

Today, Tokken more than ever had realized that he was a knight just like his father had educated him and the values were indeed rooted deep in his heart. He realized that due to an incident that morning. Tokken was taking care of Lady Em while talking to his father when he over heard a squire having strange talk about Princess Arianna and her children, also about the dignity of some of the other knights. Tokken recognized the squire who seemingly was the one who did the talking. Most off all Tokken was taken by fury when he heard that Sir Barker actually shared some of his squire's thoughts. Tokken would have probably had killed the squire at that very moment but he was stopped by his father. The king simply had held the arm of his son saying: "good manners Tokken, good manners." With that Tokken had decided that it was time for Sir Barker to learn how a knight should actually talk about ladies. And the squire, well, he would learn how to keep his mouth shut.

Sit barker! Roll Barker! Die Barker!
--------------//-------------

That noon Tokken had a different armor, or rather, it was the same armor but in a different color (either Tokken had changed the color of his armor with some shifting trick or it was one of the armor's own proprieties that it changed color according to the bearer's temper). That morning Beauty (Tokken's armor) was bloody red. Tokken had entered from the other side of the arena as if to have a closer look to his opponent before jousting. But as the events continued those who knew Tokken just so well had realized that he had other plans rather than look at his opponent armor. He had passed by Sir Barker squire while going to his side of the list and he 'accidentally' dropped a dark coin which the stupid squire had fastened to collect. It so happened that at the moment the squire touched the coin he became stone from head to feet. Tokken insisted that he had dropped the coin by accident and it was not his fault that the squire tried to appropriate his coin. But from the public one could see a smiling king who knew exactly what his son had just done, 'good manners class!'

And now it had come the time for Barker to learn some good manners as well. The incident with the squire had given the impression that it had not been the worst for today's joust. The all red armor of Tokken seemed to confirm that impression to the public who were waiting anxious for the joust. When time came, Tokken made a slow hand gesture and Lady Em came in his direction. Karma_Jack who had decided to watch the joust as near as possible also came bring Tokken his lance. The lance was also a different one. Until now Tokken had been using a lance clearly made of light wood meant to easily break avoiding any damage to the opponent. But this lance was different, not just because it had serpents carved all around it but also because it was clearly heavier than a normal lance - some very solid looking kind of wood meant to hurt rather than score the opponent. It made all clear that Tokken had no plan of being gentle to his opponent, not this time. He would try to unhorse Sir Barker and if possible knockout him.

When the flag went down Tokken took a moment looking how his opponent would come and then he also moved forward. Tokken kept Lady Em at a rather low pace if compared to her previous jousts. The lance was kept at an angle of about 45 degrees to make it easier for him to carry the heavy lance. But still the mighty horse seemed as if prepared to explode again. Tokken kept his eyes on Sir Barker as if calculating the moment of the strike, as if seeing each movement in slow motion for nothing seemed to escape his attention. Tokken had positioned his body forward as if trying to get even closer to his target, to his victim. As the moment of the shock came closer many things happen simultaneously and so fast that only trained eyes would understand what had happened. First Lady Em had moved slightly from the fence while Tokken had followed her movement trying as much as possible to avoid the lance of Barker and dropping his own to the level of Barker head. In the next moment Lady Em had moved even closer to the list barrier than before. This seemed to be a very well trained move for knight and horse had move as one. That movement had put both knight closer than ever before. At that distance Tokken using the power of his horse moving against the opponent directed the lance toward the head of Sir Barker with all his might and the speed and precision of a snake attack...
