This round will primarily be based in roleplaying. Each of you will compete with every other contestant in a joust. If you do not know much about jousting, I suggest you read up on it. Doing a little research on the subject may help you out.

I also feel that it is important to have real strength in the game. So each of you will also have a ven battle with each other contestant.

Instructions:

1. The lower-leveled contestant will attack the higher leveled-contestant and post the battle logs in the appropriate location.

2. The higher-level contestant may begin the joust portion of this round if they are waiting on the battle logs.

Jousting Instructions

1. There will be three rounds to each joust. Each round will have one post from each of the contestants. Please post each round separately.

2. No contestant may ever state that they knocked someone off their horse or hit them in the face. The point of this joust is to be as prepared for what happens and to be very descriptive. The judges (Me, Anonymous, and King_Graywind) will determine where the blow landed.

3. Make sure that the rounds differ from each other. In a real joust, each round would not be exactly like the last.

4. You cannot move on to the next round of the joust until the previous round has been completed (both contestants have posted). However, you do not have to wait until the round has been judged.

5. You have until Friday, the 11th at midnight (DW time) to complete all of your jousts.

Scoring

1. For the joust:
broken lance to the chest - 1 points
broken lance to the head - 2 points
knocking opponent off their horse - 3 points (win)

2. For the round:
Points will be tallied and contestants will be ranked.

Jousting Questions

1. Will there be a tilt barrier or is it an open joust?
There will be a tilt barrier.

2. If dehorsed, or in the chance of a tie, is there a hand to hand opportunity?
In the event of a tie, there will be a sword fight in order to determine the winner.

3. Is it just lances for the tilting itself or does the contest include rounds with sword slashes and dagger strikes?
There will only be lances used in the joust. (Unless there is a tie.)

4. Are we able to use joust specific armor such as have a mounted shield on the side closest to the opponent and the modified helm that protects the eyes when leaning back?
Yes, you may include descriptions of joust specific armor. This may add to your score.

5. Heavy war horses, or the faster more agile kind?
The decision about what kind of horse you use is up to you. This may also affect your score.

6. Are we to ride left side to left side, or right side to right side?
You will be riding left side to left side.

7. Are we to use heavy oak lances or the newer stile designed to shatter on a direct hit?
The type of lance you use is also your decision to make and may also affect your score.

8. Is the yard sand or grass? What time of day is it? What season of the year is it? And is there a crowd, or just the judges and contestants?
Forgive me for forgetting to post this information earlier. The yard is grass, it is high noon in the middle of fall, and there is a crowd watching the tournament.

Hu_Flung_Pu: 5 (3 ven battles + head shot)
Scabernac: 4 (1 ven battles + 1 unhorse)
Master_Barker: 2 (2 ven battles)
