Subject: Camping vs. Power Leveling: A Brief Guide | |||||
| The two main stratagies for gaining strength are camping and power leveling. Camping is normally reccomened for newer weaker players; it is the act of staying at a low level for as long as possible and makeing use of the training grounds to increase your stats. In order to camp a player must 1) join a clan and set his/her experience tax (exp tax) to 90% 2) avoid the upper ven and the forests 3) visit the training grounds every reset with out fail 4) use your energy and ability points in the lumber mill 5) fish and/or mine and/ore work your outpots and/or go trapping, etc. basically do everything else except kill other players or npc (non player characters). The idea is to avoid gaining experience at all costs the only exception to this is the experience gained by training (exp gained through training was a recent attempt by the deveolpers to discourage players from camping, they have failed for true campers would not give up). Players below level 5 are lucky in this regard as they dont not gain exp through training. Most campers agree that when you start to recieve .01 per stat per training turn in the training grounds it is time to level up by 1 level. Power leveling is the polar opposite of camping; it is the act of intentionaly leveling up quickly in order to gain AP and increase ones stats and is normally reccomend for the older stronger players. To power level a player spends all of their energy and health in either of the forests or the upper ven with the intent of gaining as much exp as possible. (some power levelers will also go fishing, mineing, etc, and some do not). If you can find a player who has beaten the Elite Palace you can ask them to place you on their exp stone. An exp stone is an item awarded to the victors of the Elite Palace, it allows that person to share up to a total of 5% of any exp they gain during battle (high level players who have an exp stone can also use it for camping as well). The general opinion appears to be that the best time to power level is after having camped for a long time and to do so when your clan in competeing in the CBR. |
