Because no one point is more probable to have the ore this time. The fact that it wont repeat places might be an assumption, so at each try, the odds are the same. This is because the new try is independent of the last successful try (unless, of course, they have a biased algorithm). If all squares are equally probable, then no matter what you do, when you put together the times you picked the right side and the times you didn't, you won't be far from anybody else's average. |
