Subject: Avalon Save the Queen
"Send riders!" Keeva yelled. "Send them all, cavalry, dragon and great eagle! I want that bastard found!" She was furious that Camdules had run, rather than staying and facing his judgment like a man. "And I want him, alive." She said glaring at the Ricitmen as they mounted their steeds. Their traditions were to kill anyone who fled battle. However, before any of them could take off a dragon landed infront of the upset queen.

It was not as large as some of its compatriots. Only around fifteen feet high. A light green color with a slightly brown under side. It lowered its horned head and, almost, whimpered. Opening it's mouth, the dragon stuck out it's long tongue. Wrapped up within it, was Camdules. His body was broken, a sign that he had fought with the dragon, and after becoming annoyed the dragon crushed his body with it's strong tongue. Keeva laughed, she did not blame the dragon for doing so. That was nature, not arrogant tradition. "You did well, Great One." she patted it's snout only to hear it low in pride. "Riders, set your mounts free to roam, the city is ours!" She called out. The riders of the horses, dragons, and ricits dismounted. "You may go through the town, taking anything belonging to the Commonwealth Government, but nothing more!"

The Rogricians were the first to run in to town to claim what they could. The Westlanders, to Keeva's surprise did not move from their spots, nor did the Arelians. Fintan however was moving through the musketeers, whispering to them "Load your guns..." or "Charge your pieces."

"Sir...is all well?" Marcus, Fintan's second in command during the highwayman operations, had walked up to him, puzzled as to why the musketeers were loading their muskets.

"Marcus, I can not do this with only one working hand...I need you to load my pistol." He removed the short weapon and handed it to the cavalier. Puzzled, but accommodating, Marcus began to load the weapon. He hardly had rammed the round home when Fintan snatched it from him. A Rogrican was running out of the city. A woman was thrown over his shoulder in nothing but her petticoat. Fintan fired his pistol, striking the Rogrican in the head. "Secure her." He growled to three Musketeers. They rushed over to her, one putting his coat around her. "WHAT THE HELL IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!" He screamed, seeing that five other Rogricans were on their way out, women on their shoulders as well.

Keeva looked back to see about fifty musketeers putting their bayoneted muskets to the faces of the slavers. "Fintan! All of you stand down!"

"I'm sorry, Your Highness, I promised to defend this country. That includes keeping her people out of the shackles of this disgusting practice." Fintan snatched Marcus' pistol out of his belt and strode over to the nearest Rogrican. Cocking it, he put it to the man's head. "You will set my countrywoman down, or so help me Avalon I will splatter your compatriots with your brains."

"Put them down, this is not why we have come." The High King of Rogric said calmly from behind Fintan.

"But...tradition...the gods will become...." The warrior was silenced when Fintan stuck his pistol in to his mouth.

"Put her down...or become the new decor of the castle." He growled. The Rogricans put their 'prizes' down. "Escort these young ladies to their homes, gentlemen." The musketeers removed their coats and draped them around the shoulders of the women, leading them back to their homes. Fintan flipped the pistol around and returned it to Marcus.

"Rest and clean yourselves up Gentlemen...we convene in the Great Hall this evening to feast our victory." Keeva shouted so that all could hear her. The Arelian soldiers marched in to the city, taking up their old residences. The soldiers returned to the military district, taking up lodging in the old barracks. The rest of the army returned to the great camp to rest and clean up, they would march in a parade to the castle later that evening.

That evening, the feast was held outside rather than in the great hall, so that the dragons could honored for their part. Massive amounts of deer, boar, birds, and other animals were served, along with several hundred gallons of ale. Every baker in the city of Stromwall had made loaves of bread for the feast, with so many people, it was a wonder that the town had any food left afterwards. Keeva was seated in the middle of the high table, her eldest sister, Molly, now the Crowned Princess, on her right. The High Kings of Westland and Rogric sat on either side of the Arelian Royalty, the Elven king on the right of the Rogrican king. On the left of the Westland king, the representative of the Dragon Kingdom, a small red dragon, sat.

A shot was fired in to the sky, causing everyone to go silent and look to see who fired it. Fintan was standing from his seat, a smoking pistol lowered, hat removed, and mug raised high. "AVALON SAVE QUEEN KEEVA!" Every Arelian quickly stood up, and whole heartedly repeated the words. "Avalon save Queen Keeva!"

Keeva's reign as queen began, marking the Second Age of Mysticism. The musketeer forces were not disbanded, but rather sent to the frontier of the empire to protect her flanks. An honorable charge for the Arelians. Keeva's reign saw peace with the Westlands, to everyone's relief.

Fintan retired from his post in the Arelian Army, no longer to properly fight. The bullets in his arm were never able to be removed, gangrene set in soon. His left arm had to be amputated to prevent the spread, but it is a sacrifice he will never regret. Keeva asked him to remain as her military adviser, which he gladly accepted. He also took on the post as the emissary of the Empire's interests, primarily with their new permanent Westland ally, but Fintan was to go where ever he was needed. His title of lord was restored, and he was offered a higher title if he wanted it. He asked only that his old home be restored to him, and he be allowed to continue his studies to hopefully further the knowledge of the world around them. And so, he returned to the Westlands, until the time the Empire called him home again.
