	In the dark forest, You see an army of scavengers coming from behind and have to climb a tree to hide! (5 energy lost) I think a player should have the choice here to either hide in a tree (and lose 5 energy) or have the choice to fight them... (bearing in mind if you choose to fight them, they will be quite strong and a challenge to defeat). But at least you would still have the option and thus not having to lose 5 energy nearly every time you encounter them.
