The world of computer gaming began with software licenses that were sold. It didn't start with "pay a bit more to level up your character even further". Same with online gaming. The companies/individuals that made the games didn't have to survive, you know. If people didn't like their games, their endeavors would simply fail. There would be no attempts to try to milk more money out of their players. You can become a successful game producer without making every part of the game purchasable. If you have a good game, both your advertising and word-of-mouth will be successful in the long run. |
