| Blink 182 did indeed cover it, along with Replacements, Paul Westerburg...??. which shows what a classic song it is. Just listened to it, sorry, good version, but compared to the original it's a poor imitation. Replacements is sh**! PW, at least includes the guitar solos, which is a big part of why this song's so special. Oh, & good work figuring it wasn't Blink.  It's The Only Ones, a British band from London. Listen to the studio version, (not live), the guitar solo at the beginning is to die for, and the middle 8 is cool too. Really, it is a monster!!  Now, as for yours, I was thinking Glam Rock.Brit style, Slade, Sweet, Bowie, etc, but they're 70s anyway. So, I'm afraid to say that even though Blackbeard actually mentions the song in his post, I not a clue. Motley Crue are completely outside my frame of reference! lol Though I like the New York Dolls & MC5, (70s again, really). So you got me on that one, but I just listened to it, niiiice...& then I saw they covered Helter Skelter...KICK ASS!! Loved it...I wondered if I got the right song with the really sweet guitars at the beginning. Anyway me old mucka, here's one from the other side of the pond again. "Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine" Out... "The time is now.... The boy looked at Johnny, Johnny wanted to run, Johnny wanted to move, but the movie kept moving, as planned." That's it, any more I might as well tell you! lol Clue, at this time of year one of this singers albums would be apt. Did I get an egg? NO! Good luck! |
