Good one...yeah, I saw it.

You don't like Lou Reed? Oh well, each to his own.

*Walks away shaking head in bemusement, mumbling...'kids, eeee, durn't knur theh born...tsk, tsk'*

Modern punk, eh? Brit or Amec? Hmmm, I gotta admit I don't know it, but it sounds like maybe Green Day, who were obviously influenced by the giants which were The Clash, (sort of lyrics Strummer would come up with).

No, you got me...ahhh...enfant terrible! Now I gonna have to google!...

Oh, am I good or what!!!??? Pure intuition!

Green Day...'Minority'...fair enough, I don't know the song, but I got Green Day just from those lyrics...Hail Caesar! haha!
Good one mate.

Now, I'm gonna give you one of the greatest songs ever written, some say influenced by T.S Eliot's "The Wasteland." (Big clue). If I give you another clue, you'll know who it is, so I'll just hit the lyrics.

"They're selling postcards of the hanging,
they're painting the passports brown,
the beauty parlour is full of sailors,
the circus is in town."

If you're a fan, you'll get it. I imagine you are, mind you, you don't like Lou Reed...*shakes head again*
But I'm sure you'll be into something of his.

Here's the trivia...that first line of the verse (& some of the rest of it) was about 3 African American circus workers in Duluth, Minnesota in 1920 who were dragged out of jail (while the sheriff watched) by a mob & hung for r**ing a white girl, who later admitted she was lying. (Tryna keep it app, Red)
They took pictures of them hanging & posted them round the town. In 2003, they erected a memorial to the murdered workers.

The singer's grandfather was there on the night it happened. And the singer himself, was born there.

Sorry, I just love facts & myths, w/e about stuff...Spongebrain Fatpants, that's me!

Of course, that's just a small part of this epic song.
