| A best selling author of heroic Fantasy, my favourite book of his is Legend or maybe Waylander the slayer. My favourite collection of his is the Drenai Tales I have read all of them, they are amazing books and the culture of the Drenai is not unlike DW his books have influenced me to create a clan based on a group of characters from the books called the The Thirty. His book have so many great characters that you can have endless conversations listing your favourite, because everytime you try to decide who your favourite is you remember more amazing characters. Sadly David Gemmell passed away July 2006 aged just 57 but has left us with a incredible series of books, there is now a David Gemmell Legend Award given to breakthrough fantasy novelists.
