| I used to read a lot of sci-fi but as I have gotten older my tastes have gotten a little more fast paced. I can't name just one so here are several. Bernard Cornwell- His historical fiction is awesome! The Richard Sharpe series is probably my favorite of his. Matt Reilly- He's is Australian and his books while maybe lacking the depth of some books is super fast paced with a lot of action. Jim Butcher- Lot of people have not heard of him but his wit, and great writing make the Dresden series one of my favorite fantasy series. Last and not least.... John Ringo- His series shouldn't be read by anyone who is easily offended, some might find some of his topics slightly skewed. I like his gritty kill them all and let god sort them out approach to his characters in the Ghost series. Also, he has some great books co-authored with others like David Weber. |
