 Subject: Absolutely.
Tolkien's trilogy is an epic masterpiece. The only books I've read that come close are "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant The Unbeliever". By Stephen Donaldson. The first three are excellent, the next two get depressing & oppressive (The Dark Lord starts to get the upper hand & sends out his Ur-Viles to tear & rend & mutilate) haha!
