| This series, by George Mcdonald Frazier, follows rhe exploits of Harry Flashman, a a morally bankrupt, cowardly, womanizing officer in the British army from 1840 thru the early 1900's, who find himself embroiled in many of the major events of that period, including The Charge of the Light Brigade and Custar's Last Stand. The books are great fun, as well as being a more realistic record of history than you'll find in most non-fiction history books. Also, Terry Pratchett's Disc World series. Marvelous satire there. |
