You're right, King's work is a little on the commercial side, but think of them as products of different societies, I think King responds to a crowd of readers in search of a clean plain narrative, whereas Poe's work is a bit more artsy. And regarding Lovecraft... he's the only writer who's ever made me want to stay up at night, fearing the noises in my house.. hahaha. |
