| Jack suddenly realized that Arianna was crying. He hated himself for that. He knew it was his fault. She felt his pain because in his grief he began to project his feelings with his telepathic power. He gently began to rein in his emotions. He had to hold it together...for Arianna. She had no idea how important it was for him to protect her. After all, Alchemy predicted Arianna's arrival at the tavern. She knew that Arianna had a key role to play in order to vanquish the evil that used the power of the light. He got to his feet and dried his tears. There will be time to mourn Alchemy's death later. Right now he needed to get Arianna to a safe place. He reached down and picked Arianna up. He brought her to a standing position. He wiped away her tears. "An angel shouldn't cry." He whispered in her ear. Jack to took Arianna's hand and led her across the meadow, over the stream, and into the forest. |
