of removing the 1 eurocent and 2 eurocents at my place. In the mean time, because those coins end up usually in a glass pot, or any other container at home, they had to produce new ones (there aren't enough in circulation anymore). I tried to pay with those at a train station recently, and the guy did not want to take them. He said people would complain if receiving them as change. I pointed out that it is, you know, what you'd call money...and that they were also given to me by someone, so why should I be the one stuck with them ? Did not work. I find village markets more compliant, though. If they take them out, prices will raise, they'll round it up to the highest number. |
