between layouts, we over here prepare the financials in order of decreasing liquidity. But it isn't really the format I was referring to in my previous post, rather, the definition of capital in finance & accounting. Equity and non-current liabilities are still under separate heads, but in concept, are both used to run the business in the long term. Hence the term 'Capital Structure' is used when assessing how much of the business is financed by equity and by debt. Back when I was still in school, we were taught that capital simply means anything invested into the business. Now though, ACCA has just added more dimensions to that! I am impressed, you don't seem to be a professional accountant yourself, but you know more about accounting than the average person. |
