| You have not been given the information necessary in order to assume that the equation was given as 6 over 2(1+2)... if you do not see the equation represented in that manner then you follow the BEDMAS* rule that others have been using. Therefore the equation must look like: =6/2(1+2) = 6/2x3 = 3x3 = 9 *BEDMAS = Brackets, Exponents, Divison or Multiplication (order from left to right), Addition or Subtraction (order from left to right). Basically one of those equations where the answer changes depending on how it is actually represented... hundreds of them all over the internet. |
