Well problem with Chelsea is that older players wanted to take down Boas and that resulted with bad performances. But there were some good games, such as against MU (they should kiss Webb's feet) or against Valencia that showed me that they can do something if they focus. In the end they used experience and left all ideas about attractive football. It takes me back to '91 and final Olympique Marseille vs Red Star Belgrade (also my favorite team). Red Star played very attractive and attacking football entire year, then, in final game manager (Ljupko Petrovic) asked players: "Do you want to win or do you want to play?". Rest of the game was Red Star defending (which surprised Olympique) and winning on penalty shoot-out 5-3. |
