I use a picture as a base to start from, then draw the basic shapes, add the outlines around that and work in the details from there in stages. Can be slow, but I find there's more margin for error that way. Then I go over it all with a pen to make it stand out.. only problem I have with that, is I can't fill in the shading as effectively with a pen. And if I don't go over it, I'm left with a faint view of the shapes I started with, which ruins the illusion a bit. Can be a frustrating hobby at times. |
