Subject: Every Disney Movie has something | |||||
All fairytales and thus most disney movies start with some kind of tragedy or adversity etc... Snow White --- Evil Stepmother orders her killed and heart brought back in box... then later poisons her Pinocchio --- tired old man with no one cant have children Dumbo --- people make fun of the ears and gets seperated from his mother Bambi --- mother gets shot Cinderella --- evil step mother and sisters making life hell of the aryan* Alice in Wonderland --- well now... a book written by a pedophile about little kids taking a bunch of drugs and almost getting killed... great one XD Peter Pan --- the parents are neglectful, have to leave the dog behind, and peter is giving them "magic dust" that lets them stay as good for nothing layabouts and not do any work (sounds like more drugs) Lady and the Tramp --- class issues Sleeping Beauty --- gets cursed by the witch as a baby... since of the father etc. One Hundred and One Dalmatians --- DeVill wants to kill the pups to make a fur coat. Sword in the Stone --- parents die early and taken in by family friend... treated like crap and needs magic to make something of himself Jungle Book --- calamity causes the mother to abandon her child in the jungle much like Moses... without the world shapping back story Aristocats --- class issues again Robin Hood --- oddly doesnt mention the going off to war and comming back to nothing aspect found in traditional robin hood stories, but still is an outlaw from the start... more class issues Oliver and Company --- Gets left in a box in an alley in the rain... deals with abandonment and homelessness as well as class issues and many many many more examples XD Also, along with the hidden sex references (no one mentioned the little mermaid when they where talking about that... there is a penis hidden in the towers of the cover... one of the most famous examples of such XD) there are also contriversies attached to discrimination and nazi like ideals. Walt himself was known to be a supporter of Hitler in his early days and spoke out against Jews more then once. Many of the movies have Nazi like themes such as the main heroine (usually considered the ultimate in "beauty" is often the blond haired blue eyed typeset. Also, ethnicities that are minorities in America have a tendency of showing up as over stylized villians while the heros are "Americanized". An epic and recent example of this is Aladin (which came out durring th first gulf war) in which Aladin himself is drawn in one style and so are all of the "good guys" (the father even looks white?) while unsavory characters like the guards or Jafar are over stylized to emphasis their sterotypicaly arabic features... Basicly, there are entire courses under most film programs about how fucked up Disney really is... and they usually deal with racism, sexual themes, or personal image issues. |
