Subject: I use a merchant flag

all the time and I never know if someone has tried to attack me when I am fishing, and I don't want to know. This idea only benefits a couple of clans who do a lot of ship killing and who want to be able to talk to each other so that they can kill more ships. This can already be done using clan chat. Just open up another window.
