| As I said before the only thing you really need to figure out quickly is, "Leveling doesn't help." As long as you get that figured out, your camping time will not be noticeably more dangerous than your immunity period was. And you'll have all the time in the world to read and memorize every guide under the sun. I've been level 3 for the last 2 weeks and I've gotten killed 3 times. It hasn't exactly cramped my playing style. I've got plenty of time to read forums, guides, ask advice, etc. Learning enough to handle yourself without official immunity doesn't take that long. By the way, the only thing beginner protection does is keep you from being Venned. And lets face it, if you're a beginner and you're getting Venned to the point where it interferes with how you play, you're doing something wrong and would be best served to find that out sooner rather than later. On the other hand, even with beginner protection, your outpost can still get attacked and any tokens stolen and your ship can still get sunk and any gold on hand stolen. Since building your outpost and your fishing level are two of the major things you should be doing as a beginner, extending beginner protection doesn't really help all that much. |
